The Center Hill girls basketball team has recently been playing better. This was demonstrated by the 53-42 win against New Albany on December 11.  New Albany was the team’s first game and first loss of the season.

“1-2-3 Family!” the girls’ basketball team exclaims before they depart for Clarksdale to take on the Wildcats.

These ladies have had an outstanding season so far; however, one of their star players, Kirmesha Oliver, tore her ACL while playing defense a few weeks ago. Oliver decided to take one for the team and play with her injury despite medical advice.

When she was asked why she would play with a torn ACL, she simply responded, “It’s my last year.”

Oliver has to make sure to stay on top of her physical therapy to ensure that her injury does not worsen.  She remains optimistic about her team and their upcoming games.
