The 2024-2025 school year has brought many new faces, including Center Hill’s newest English teacher, Madison Owens.
Owens comes from a family full of teachers. From grandparents, to parents, to even aunts and uncles who all loved to teach. Owens is continuing her family legacy by teaching English IV to seniors this year at the Hill. Aside from her family, Owens gets her inspiration from her fellow English teachers due to her enjoyment in them. “I was better at English than any other subject,” added Owens. Before arriving at the Hill, Owens taught freshman college English at the University of Alabama.
Owens went to Birmingham Southern College for her undergraduate studies before graduating from the University of Antelope Valley, where she studied English for 6 years, as well as partaking in political science on the side.

In her free time, Owens likes to train for her half marathon coming up for the St. Jude Memphis Marathon. Signifying where her heart lies in this world full of malevolence. Owens even stated her teaching style resembles Mrs. Frizzle, and her dedication to the St. Jude movement truly solidifies her embodiment of the legend Mrs. Frizzle.
