Center Hill’s jamboree game kicked off August 23rd against Desoto Central, igniting the hype for the 2024-2025 football season, or did it?
With a 29% win chance against Desoto Central’s 71% chance, based off of Scorebook Live’s poll, the Hill was not in favor of winning this game. With their previous game history against the Jaguars, their reputation of losing has led students to poke fun at their football players.
Regardless of their history, students at the Hill were jubilated for this year’s football season.
“Yes, I’m so excited to see everyone get together and have a good time […] even if we lose, we’ll still have a good time cheering on the Mustangs,” explained senior Alexa Mendoza.
Despite their loss against Desoto Central, the football team looked hungrier than ever.
“It’s going to be good,” assured junior Tyler Hogan, the new face of the football team. “We’ve got great things ahead. We’ve got a bright future. We’ve got a good team. We know what we have, and we’re coming.”
The football team will take to the field next Friday, August 30th against Southaven High School.
