New staff writer Jonathan Leonardo Rosas (pronounced Roses) is an 18-year-old skate-rat whose life was changed when, at the age of 6, his brother showed him some skateboarding videos and he stumbled across Tony Hawk’s Underground. His professional skater idols include Jason Dill, Mark Gonzales and Eric Koston. A music fanatic, Rosas enjoys a variety of artists and genres like Depeche Mode, System Of A Down, MF DOOM, Gorillaz and Michael Jackson. His current hobbies are collecting records, video games he grew up with, and reading/watching Japanese cartoons. The 11th-grader hopes to one day start up a clothing skate brand called ShiiDie.
