Trying something new can be difficult, sometimes even scary. Everyone can relate to that, but trying new foods, games, and hobbies can result in great things. Before you knew what your favorite food was you had to try it first, so why not try something new this month?
On April 30, 2016, Center Hill High School Color Guard will be hosting their very first guard clinic to introduce anybody and everybody to spinning! If you’re thinking about trying out, but you’re not sure, come to find out. The staff will be happy to help you learn a new sport that you’re sure to love!
I’m sure many of you are thinking “What even is guard?” Color guard is a team that feels and acts as a family. We are a part of the band that helps tell a story. We spin. We dance. We toss. But most of all, we perform; we show this story with our flags, rifles, and bodies. Color guard is a fun, productive way to spend your time with fun, happy, outgoing people.
So don’t be scared to try something new. Come discover guard through your own experience instead of through other people’s words. Plus, the captains (Haley Parker and Jillian Ressler) and the seniors on the team (Stephanie Mendoza, Carolyn Bagget, and Lauren Hansel) will be there to help guide the new comers.
To obtain more information, see Melaine Caffee in her classroom at any time of the school day!
