The boys basketball team has advanced to the Elite Eight after defeating Vicksburg 69-60 tonight in the second round of the Class 5A state basketball playoffs.

The Mustangs are now 23-8. In tonight’s game, Zandon Haralson scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds; Kaeden Laws scored 13 points and had 7 rebounds, Decorian Payton had 13 points and 12 rebounds, Jacquez Hardin scored 12 points, and Jhamal Ross scored 6 points.

Center Hill will face Cleveland Central in the MHSAA quarterfinal round at 7 p.m. Feb. 29 at Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
