Senior Decorian Payton was recognized Jan. 24 for scoring 1,000 points in his career. Payton is the third player in school history to achieve this goal.

“With the schedule that we have played it really was a huge accomplishment,” said Payton, who hit that achievement during the game against Columbus Jan. 14. “Scoring 1,000 points was a goal of mine going into my senior year because I felt as if it was a milestone that would boost my confidence.”

Payton is a 6-foot-6-inch forward for the Mustangs.
