Mustangs beat OB 75-73 for first state championship
Beating district rivals Olive Branch 75-73, the Mustangs claimed the Class 5A State Championship, the first state basketball title in school history, tonight in Jackson.
Calvin Temple scored 24 points and was named the game’s MVP. The Mustangs, coached by Newton Mealer, finished the season with a record of 31-3.
