A summer spent binge-watching Netflix may have ended too soon for Shelby Bailey.

“I’m tired but making it work,” said the junior, who joined about 1,000 other students Aug. 6 on the first day of the 2018-2019 school year at Center Hill.

Students left behind a variety of summer adventures to return to the classroom. Diego Valenzuela traveled to California, Decorian Payton spent time in New York, and Brinley Steed went to the beach.

“I rappelled 269 feet off a mountain,” freshman Kyle Heath said.

Social studies teacher Cole Harris, however, may have had the most interesting summer.

“I took care of my cats,” Harris said. “I played a lot of Fortnite.”
