“I want auroras and sad prose/I want to watch wisteria grow right over my bare feet.” — Taylor Swift, “The Lakes” from Folklore.

From McAdams’s page on the Center Hill High School website:

I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2020, with a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and a minor in Psychology. I am licensed in English, Social Studies, and General Science for grades 7-12. Currently, I teach Oral Communications and Foundations of Journalism; advise the Center Hill’s student publications of The Pony Express (newspaper), The Mustang (yearbook), and inkstained (literary magazine); and coach CHHS’s Speech and Debate team. Growing up, I was a student of Desoto County Schools myself, attending Walls Elementary and continuing through to Lake Cormorant Middle and High School before transferring to the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, where I graduated in 2015.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, I moved to Desoto County as a child and have lived here ever since. While a student in DCS, I participated in the Gifted Program, county chess tournaments, Knowledge Bowl, National Honor Society, and several other activities. I was a student athlete, playing defense and mid-field for Lake Cormorant and MSMS’s girls soccer teams. At MSMS, I was on the staff of The Vision, the school’s student newspaper, and Southern Voices, the school’s literary magazine. During my time writing for those publications, I won awards with the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association (MSPA) and the Mississippi’s Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for my writing. As of summer 2023, I am a now member of the MSPA board.
