Light wears a mask
Made of bravado and hypocrisy.
She prowls the streets,
Untouchable.
Like an evergreen,
She is eternal.
Darkness hides for no one
To herself she remains true.
Unchangeable,
Yet flexible,
Like the tides of the sea,
Honest in her nature.
Light is thoughtless,
Caring not for who she blinds
As she sails her way through life,
Oblivious.
In her wake there is only mindlessness.
Darkness is honest,
Painfully so.
She knows that lies are often beautiful
And the truth is bathed in shadows.
Insight is her safe haven
And ingenuity is a story
She knows by memory.
Light is hollow and deceptive.
A lie
Clothed in silk and gold and make-up,
Perfume to cover up a repulsive myth,
The embodiment
Of false promise.
Darkness is unforgiving
And every bit as twisted
As all the stories say.
She calls only to the few,
Selective in her wisdom.
Light is misguided,
For all the good she means.
She beckons to the many,
Inviting all to stay
In her blissful state of ignorance.
Above all it is advised
That you keep in mind
The point between the two.
Darkness isn’t evil.
Light isn’t necessarily good.
While Darkness might not be
The friendliest person you know,
The damage Light has caused
With all her Righteousness and Ego
Cannot be denied.
