We live in an era where the world is changing, whether for good or for bad. The struggle for today’s youth is finding a place or a person to lead them in how they should tackle the problems of this great, big world.
I firmly believe that the only people who can tell us such details are the same people who changed the world before us. I had the privilege of meeting an iconic hero in history who changed the very fate of Mississippi.
His name?
None other than James Meredith.
For those of you who don’t know, James Meredith was the first African-American to attend the University of Mississippi.
Meredith wanted to get his education at the University, and he didn’t let anything stop him. Many people tried and failed to prevent him from reaching this goal, but they were all unsuccessful.
James Meredith was and still is a phenomenal example of fighting for change.
Who better to ask for advice on how to make an impact on my culture’s future?
When I asked Mr. Meredith on what he would say to today’s youth, he told me, “The future of Western, Christian civilization depends upon good and right. The people who focus on good and right and come the closest to doing good and right are going to be the people who determine what happens.”
There you have it. The key to your fight is making sure the fight is right.
