Beta Club is a service organization that recognizes and honors high academic achievement. Grades and character are the basis for Beta membership but continued membership depends on commitment to service as well.
The CHHS chapter of Beta formally inducted new members on October 25 under the direction of sponsor Ms. Cynthia Stanley, President Madison Brandon, Vice President Savannah Steen, Treasurer Morgan Atkins, Secretary Stephen Shol. and Reporter Amber Terry.
The new sophomore members are Allie Droke, Flannery Egner, Riley Hardin, Edie Lockett, Lana Marshall, Haley Parker, Jordan Riecke and Madalyn Sloan.
The club also inducted the following freshmen: Andrew Clifton, Haley Ellis, Yana Emer, Kenzie Heidenreich, Zoe Kinggard, Tanika Kounhavong, Lise Larsen, Christany Liggins, Caley Paulino, Abigail Penfield, Jacob Rodgers, and Kayman Wachter.
Ms. Stanley, Beta sponsor, remarked that the members of Beta are “students who not only work well in the classroom but who do good works for our community.”
Further, she explained, “Year after year, I am impressed with how generous our members are with their time and talents.”
The Beta Club actively sponsors and participates in school-based service projects such as Beta Playdate, which provides after school care for teachers’ children on faculty meeting days. In addition, Beta has worked with the community to provide donations for local charities.
