On Feb. 7, Center Hill’s star defensive lineman Justin Jackson took part in National Signing Day, signing with the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers.

“I’m going to miss playing with my boys,” said Jackson, adding that leaving Center Hill will be tough. “We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, and I’m gonna miss it.”

At 6 feet 3 inches and 250 pounds, Jackson has been a driving force for the Mustangs. He was named Overall Center Hill Football Player of the Game by MaxPreps in the team’s sole win of his senior season against Saltillo on Oct. 6.

Center Hill’s head football coach and athletic director, Alan Peacock, said Jackson developed as an athlete during his time with the Mustangs.

“He just has a lot of natural talent,” Peacock said. “He has come a long way in his four years here.”

Peacock added that playing at the next level is a great opportunity for Jackson.

“Not everyone gets to do this, in any sport,” he said.
