The Pony Express staff and advisers gathered for a retreat June 23 in the CHHS Library. Special guest speaker was RJ Morgan, director of the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association.

Students participated in several team-building activities, wrote a mission statement, attended sessions on news writing and fundraising, and planned coverage for the upcoming school year.

Also at the meeting, senior Sherrice Wright was named Editor-in-Chief for 2017-2018.

The retreat was sponsored by Michael Hatcher & Associates.
